Boko Haram Commander Captured

Konduga: Army Captures High RankingBoko Haram Commander

The Nigerian Army has reported that after
engaging in a fierce battle with Insurgent
group Boko Haram, they have captured a top
Commander in the sect.
Military fights Boko Haram terrorists who now
changed thier tactics.
The army also said that they sect lost
hundreds of their men in the fight.
They revealed this information to ThisDay after
an inquiry over the ongoing counter-terrorism
and counter-insurgency operations in the North
East.

Director of Defence Information (DDI), Maj-
Gen. Chris Olukolade revealed the capture of
the terror chief.

He said: the “seriously wounded high ranking
terrorists leader is being treated in a military
medical facility after he was captured in the
operations at Konduga”.

Despite losing multiple of its insurgents, the
terrorists also lost equipments including 24
riffles, five rockets propelled grenade tubes,
two machine guns as well as a Ford Ranger
vehicle. Another Ford ranger vehicle was also
destroyed.
The first day of the battle had lasted for over
12 hours and lots of insurgents lost their lives.
One source told Sahara reporters: “ Right now,
our troops are combing the vicinity of the
battle scene in a cordon and search operation
to determine the exact casualty figures
suffered by the terrorists in the encounter”.
Also the Troops captured three Hilux vehicles,
one armoured personnel carrier and a cache of
arms and ammunition.
In another battle, at Benishek yesterday,
insurgents ambushed troops but the troops
turned it around and despite losing one soldier
in the batle, captured four motorcycles from
fleeing terrorists.
This week’s victory came after several weeks
in which Boko Haram fighters dominated
Nigerian soldiers in battle and took several
major towns in Borno and Adamawa States.
Even as Nigerian military is recording victory,
the sect is still attacking other towns in the
North Eastern region of Nigeria and they have
overtaken some.
