MANCHESTER CITY - WEST HAM PREVIEW: AGUERO EXPECTED TO BE FIT FOR PREMIER LEAGUE LEADERS By Nicholas McGee

The Hammers have already won at Arsenal and Liverpool and are hoping to inflict a first Premier League defeat of the season on Manuel Pellegrini's men Sergio Aguero is expected to be back fit for Manchester City's Premier League clash with West Ham, but that is not stopping Slaven Bilic from plotting a potential third shock away win of the season. Aguero was reduced to the role of an 83rd-minute substitute in City's 2-1 Champions League defeat to Juventus on Tuesday because of a knee problem. The Argentina international striker did not aggravate the injury in midweek, leaving City manager Manuel Pellegrini hopeful that Aguero - who netted 32 goals in all competitions last season - will be able to play to feature heavily in Saturday's game. Pellegrini said: "It was a risk to use him [Aguero]. I tried not to because if he got a kick in the same part it could take him more days to recover. "Fortunately he did not have any problems and I hope he will be fit for Saturday." Leaders City, who are four points clear at the top, are the only team with a 100 per cent record remaining in the Premier League, having taken maximum points from their first five games, scoring 11 goals and yet to concede in the process. West Ham have not won a league game at City since the 2002-03 campaign, but can take heart from masterminding two stunning results this season by beating Arsenal and Liverpool on their travels. And, speaking at his pre-match media conference, Bilic said: "It would be a surprise [if West Ham won] of course because Manchester City have scored 11 goals in the league and have not conceded. "They are cruising in the early stages and already have a gap which is hard to get after five games. "It wouldn't be a shock as we already have two out of two away wins. We know what we need to do to have a chance. "They are the favourites of course but I am expecting us to have a good game and if that is the case we will have chances." Aside from Aguero, City have a concern over captain Vincent Kompany, who picked up a calf injury against Juve. Pablo Zabaleta (knee) and Fernando (groin) are likely to miss out, with Fabian Delph (hamstring) and Gael Clichy (ankle) both out. For West Ham, Angelo Ogbonna is unavailable due to a hamstring problem, Alex Song is still recovering from an ankle complaint and long-term absentee Enner Valencia (knee) is sidelined.  But Mauro Zarate is back in full training following a hamstring concern and Pedro Obiang is expected to shake off a knock in time to be fit. I Did Not Ask Anyone To Bar AIT From Covering My Activities - Buhari

President-elect Gen. Buhari says he never gave the directive to anyone to bar AIT from covering his activities. In a statement released this evening and signed by the Director of Publicity for the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Garba Shehu, Gen Buhari said this is the era of change and that he along with his staff will ensure they do not make the same mistakes the outgoing government made.
"The time for change has come and we must avoid making the same mistakes that the outgoing government made" the statement read in part.
The statement also stated that Gen Buhari instructed his staff to"steer clear of all dealings with the media, and leave all media affairs to his official media team. "I would like everyone to henceforth stay within his/her defined area of responsibility,” Buhari said.

None Of The Rescued 293 Females Is From Chibok-Borno Govt

Borno state govt says profiling of the 293 females rescued from Sambisa forest yesterday April 28th shows that they are from Damboa local government and not from Chibok as was highly speculated.

Speaking with newsmen in Maiduguri today April 29th, the state Commissioner for Information, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, say the rescued females are from Bumsiri village in Damboa Local government area and were all kidnapped from the village by the sect members.

"These girls and women rescued are still our daughters as much as the Chibok girls and we have to commend the military for liberating them, hoping that the rest will equally be liberated. Though everyone had thought they were the Chibok girls because of the hype surrounding the abduction of the girls, but we should not lose sight of the fact that they are as important as the Chibok girls and those that are still in captivity, which we hope would be liberated soon. But at the moment, we are looking up to the time the 293 women and girls would be handed to us so that we can begin the process of rehabilitating and reintegrating them back into the society.” he said

Court Dissolves 3years Old Marriage Over Wife's Lack Of Vaginal Opening

An Abeokuta Customary Court sitting in Ake on Wednesday April 29th dissolved a three-year-old marriage between Mr Femi Olayiwole and wife, Kemi, due to the absence of vagina, deceit and frequent fighting. Olayiwole told the court that his wife deceived him to marry her knowing that she could not bear him a child. He accused his wife, who had failed to appear in court after being summoned several times, of living a false life, frequent fighting and threatening his life.
“My wife had been deceiving me since we got married I have never seen her pass through menstruation. My wife does not have any vagina opening. Anytime I ask her for sex, she would give an excuse to back up her refusal. Meanwhile, we have been praying to God to give us children. My wife did not tell me anything about her condition before we got married, until February this year that she confessed to me that she had never experienced menstruation in her life.
I thought she was lying, so I went to see her parents who told me it was true, and that they thought their daughter explained to me before we got married,” Olayiwole told the court.
He pleaded with the court’s president to dissolve his three-year-old marriage that had nothing to show for both now and in future. The News Agency Nigeria reports that the defendant was absent in spite several summons by the court.

The court’s president, Mr, Olalekan Akande, dissolved the marriage, saying that both parties had made up their minds to part ways. Akande said that both parties were free to remarry anybody of their choice, adding that the document of the marriage dissolution should be sent to Kemi.

Buhari bans AIT from covering activities - sad for our democracy - Lawyer

I'm sharing this because people in the media should be a little scared of what happened yesterday. If they can do this to AIT, they can come for the rest of us. And before you know it, we can no longer write what we want. I hope it doesn't come to that. A lawyer shares his opinion. Read below...

I laugh when I remember his words at Chatham house: "so I present to you, a former dictator and a 'born-again' democrat'. Like really? Do you realize that one Cardinal part of this democracy is the freedom of the press?  Perhaps he understands the role of the media in bringing down GEJ and maybe scared of same.

Let me take you back a little, do you know the APC legislators, last year sponsored a bill to control the press? to be specific, social media?  Do you realize that severally as a dictator, Mr. President-Elect called the media, 'a distraction'.

What then is the lesson?

While I do not subscribe to ANY form of unprofessionalism in the media, this is democracy, you can sue for defamation, except of cos you think they are saying the truth. Further you could prosecute for sedition (that's what I'll do to Sahara reporters if I were GEJ). You do not blacklist the media.  It only starts with AIT and then possibly it will spread to other channels. Then we would have a 'controlled media'.

But then again, let this cloud that is gathered yield us some fruits, 'cos the NextGeneration is patiently waiting to kick all of you out.  Just wait and see!

Bomb Razes Opposition Building In Rivers

Port Harcourt - Unknown assailants threw

Nigeria's oil-producing Niger Delta on Friday,
destroying the building but not claiming any

"Around 3 a.m. today the youths attacked the
APC secretariat at Ngor. The entire building was
razed to the ground in the fire. I'm calling on the
commissioner of police to investigate the matter,"
local opposition All Progressives Congress (APC)

Rivers state.

Nigeria holds presidential and governorship
elections on Feb. 14 that are likely to be its
closest and hardest-contested since the end of
military rule in 1999, with President Goodluck
Jonathan facing off against former military ruler
Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
Violence is rising ahead of the polls, and Rivers
state, where outgoing Governor Rotimi Ameachi
defected to the APC in 2013, is considered one of
the major flashpoints.
Nigeria has a history of political thuggery and
intimidation that have often marred its polls. The
insurgency by Islamist group Boko Haram, which
wants to establish an Islamic state in northeast
Nigeria, is also surging ahead of the election.

President Goodluck Jonathan Hopeful Of Female President

Abakaliki - President Goodluck Jonathan on
Friday expressed the hope of a woman
becoming Nigeria’s president in his life time.
Jonathan, who said this at the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) presidential rally in
Abakaliki, Ebonyi, noted that women in the
country were intelligent and hard working.
He insisted that women should be
encouraged to participate in governance,
especially politics.
"My hope is that a female will one day
occupy the position of the president of this
country.

"I will also like to see Nigerian women who
have distinguished themselves in their
various field make more global impact,’’ he
said.
Jonathan, who commended women for
supporting PDP, solicited their support by
voting for him in the Feb. 14 presidential poll.
Similarly, the First Lady, Dame Patience
Jonathan, who addressed women at the
campaign, urged them to vote for the
president as "one of their own".
"Nigerian women, you cannot exchange your
own for another.
"You must belong to a place or group where
you are accorded full recognition.
"And PDP is that place; we have no other
party," she said.
